High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs
The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.
