Mawlawi Shir Ahmad Burhani, the spokesperson of Baghlan Provincial Police Command announced, that following the directive of the Amir al-Mu’minin Shaikh Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada (Hafizullah) for the complete eradication of narcotics, security forces in the province have launched a large-scale operation to destroy poppy’s fields.

As a result of the operation, 115 jeribs (approximately 23 hectares) of land in the districts of Pul-e-Hesar, Deh Salah, and Central Baghlan have been cleared of poppy’s plants.

According to Mr. Burhani, local security officials emphasized that the campaign to clear poppy’s fields will continue in cooperation with other security agencies.
