Construction of a check dam and canal begun in Ghazni

According to the press office of the Ministry of Water and Energy, construction of the Koh Surkh check dam and reconstruction of the Bai canal in the Zankhan and Ajristan districts of Ghazni have begun at a cost of 7 million, 577 thousand and 238 Afghanis.


According to reports, the Koh Surkh check dam is 49.6 meters long and 6 meters high, with the ability to store 5,000 cubic meters of water. In addition, the Bai canal is 318 meters long, providing employment opportunities for many people.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Turkish Consul General, Alongside Afghan-Turk Maarif Delegation, Met with the Governor of Herat

In this meeting, the Turkish Consul General, the Afghan-Turk Maarif delegation, and graduates and students of higher education in Turkey met with Sheikh Mawlana Islamjar, the honorable governor of Herat.
