A mine worker has died due to a mine collapse in Samangan province.A mine worker has died due to a mine collapse in Samangan province.

Hashmatullah Rahmani, spokesperson for the Samangan Provincial Police Command, stated that a 60-year-old worker lost his life following the collapse of a mine in Dara-e-Suf Bala district. He said the deceased, named Nematullah, was a resident of Dara-e-Suf Payin district in the same province.


Mr. Rahmani added, that the incident occurred yesterday afternoon.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

In this meeting, the Turkish Consul General, the Afghan-Turk Maarif delegation, and graduates and students of higher education in Turkey met with Sheikh Mawlana Islamjar, the honorable governor of Herat.
