Food aid distributed to hundreds of impoverished families in Alishang District of Laghman Province

According to a press release from the Laghman Province Media Office, as part of humanitarian aid efforts, food items equivalent to 2900 Afghanis were distributed to 1398 impoverished families in the Alishang district of Laghman province. 


This distribution was carried out under the supervision of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate of the province, with financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP) and by the (RRDPO) organization. 

The distribution took place in the presence of Qari Rashid Ahmad, Director of Social and Development Affairs Monitoring of Alishang district, and a representative from the Department of Economy.


The press release states that each family received food items equivalent to 2900 Afghanis, 30 packets of children's halwa (sweet), and 2 kg of Super Cereal flour.

Hundreds of Drug Addicts Reintegrated with Their Families After Treatment in Herat

Officials in Herat province reported, that 400 drug addicts, who had previously been collected from various areas of the province by the Counter-Narcotics Directorate, have been discharged and handed over to their families in good health after completing a three-month treatment program. However, the process was carried out by a designated committee.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Turkish Consul General, Alongside Afghan-Turk Maarif Delegation, Met with the Governor of Herat

In this meeting, the Turkish Consul General, the Afghan-Turk Maarif delegation, and graduates and students of higher education in Turkey met with Sheikh Mawlana Islamjar, the honorable governor of Herat. Along side, they discussed the educational programs of the Afghan-Turk schools and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
