Five Reconstruction Projects Launched on Worth of Millions of Afghanis in Paktia.

Mohammad Rasul Ahmadi, spokesperson for the Paktia Provincial Governor, said to Police Radio that the work on five reconstruction projects, including the construction of a new building for the Paktia Department of Water and Energy, has begun with a value of 27 million Afghanis.


Furthermore, four of these projects are being implemented in the Sahako area of the Zurmat district under the Ministry of Water and Energy, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).


The mentioned projects include the construction of the Bitke Chakdim, the retaining wall for the Hassan Khel Karez, the water reservoir for the Bar Mullahyan Karez, the construction of the Sholgad Karez, as well as the creation of a dam and canal systems.

Hundreds of Drug Addicts Reintegrated with Their Families After Treatment in Herat

Officials in Herat province reported, that 400 drug addicts, who had previously been collected from various areas of the province by the Counter-Narcotics Directorate, have been discharged and handed over to their families in good health after completing a three-month treatment program. However, the process was carried out by a designated committee.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Turkish Consul General, Alongside Afghan-Turk Maarif Delegation, Met with the Governor of Herat

In this meeting, the Turkish Consul General, the Afghan-Turk Maarif delegation, and graduates and students of higher education in Turkey met with Sheikh Mawlana Islamjar, the honorable governor of Herat. Along side, they discussed the educational programs of the Afghan-Turk schools and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
