Jalalabad Municipality to Implement 40 Development Projects on Worth of 670 Million Afghanis This Year.

Deputy Mayor of Jalalabad province Mawlawi Mohammad Ishaq Saeed, stated that for the solar year 1404, the municipality has planned 40 major and minor development projects across the city’s nine districts, with a total estimated cost of 670 million Afghanis. 

The implementation of these projects is expected to begin soon.


The deputy mayor added, that these projects, aimed at the development of the city, the provision of urban services, and the establishment of basic infrastructure, will be funded from the municipality’s internal budget.


According to him, the projects will be carried out in all nine districts of Jalalabad and will include the construction and rehabilitation of roads, canals, bridges, culverts, and other infrastructure-related activities.

Hundreds of Drug Addicts Reintegrated with Their Families After Treatment in Herat

Officials in Herat province reported, that 400 drug addicts, who had previously been collected from various areas of the province by the Counter-Narcotics Directorate, have been discharged and handed over to their families in good health after completing a three-month treatment program. However, the process was carried out by a designated committee.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Turkish Consul General, Alongside Afghan-Turk Maarif Delegation, Met with the Governor of Herat

In this meeting, the Turkish Consul General, the Afghan-Turk Maarif delegation, and graduates and students of higher education in Turkey met with Sheikh Mawlana Islamjar, the honorable governor of Herat. Along side, they discussed the educational programs of the Afghan-Turk schools and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
