K-1 Kickboxing Tournament Held in Balkh with Participation of 100 Athletes.
Officials from the Department of Physical Education and Sports in Balkh province announced, that a K-1 kickboxing tournament was held in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital, with the participation of 100 athletes from different provinces across the country.
Hamid Gul Lewal, the media director of the Balkh Department of Physical Education and Sports, stated today that the martial arts K-1 kickboxing competition was organized by the federation's local branch in cooperation with the Balkh sports department. The one-day event included athletes in the junior, youth, and adult age categories.
Mr. Lewal further added, that the matches were conducted in a single-fight format, and by the end of the event, 50 athletes emerged as champions after defeating their opponents and secured first place in their respective categories.
on other side, the officials stated that the aim of the tournament was to promote and develop K-1 kickboxing in the region and to enhance the athletes’ capabilities. At the end of the event, belts, medals, and certificates of appreciation were awarded to the top performers.
The tournament was held yesterday (Friday, May 17 ) in Mazar-e-Sharif.
