A 20-over cricket tournament has started in Balkh province, featuring five teams.

Officials from the Balkh cricket department stated, that the tournament, named after the late Mohammad Dawood Muzmal, the former governor of Balkh province began at the provincial cricket board's sports ground.

Reports added, that the aim of this tournament is to honor the services and activities of the late Mohammad Dawood Mazmal, the former governor of Balkh province.

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has won the Asian Championship

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has become the champion of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship after defeating Iran. In the final match, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team triumphed over Iran with a score of 2–1, securing the gold medal in the tournament. Basically, this marks Afghanistan’s first-ever championship title in the history of the U-17 Asian Futsal competitions.
