National Statistics and Information Authority Issued Tens of Thousands of Identification card in the Past Two Months

Mohammad Haleem Rafi, spokesperson for the National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA), stated that during the first two months of the year (1404) the authority issued Identification card to total of 21,153 individuals across the country. Of these, 13,835 were for adults and 7,318 for children.

Mr. Rafi further added that the highest number of Identification card —14,521—were distributed in Kabul. Following Kabul, the highest numbers were issued in Herat (1,153), Balkh (982), Khost (973), and Nangarhar (776).

It is worth mentioning that during the same period, NSIA also issued 3,456 death Identification nationwide, with the highest numbers reported in Kabul, Kandahar, Farah, Khost, and Balkh provinces.

Minister of Refugees Met with Kapisa Governor and Torkham Officials

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir met with the Governor of Kapisa and officials responsible for refugee affairs at the Torkham border to discuss the conditions, challenges, and services for returnees. The meeting addressed unfinished projects in Kapisa's residential townships, the expansion of public services, and improvements to services along the Torkham border crossing. Mawlawi Abdul Kabir assured that efforts are underway to resolve these issues, emphasizing that the township projects are being followed up seriously and that cooperation with international organizations is ongoing.

600 Afghan Families Return to the Country

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has announced in a statement that 600 Afghan families returned to the country yesterday through the Torkham border in Nangarhar, Spin Boldak in Kandahar, Pul-e Abrisham, and Islam Qala in Herat. According to the statement, these families received assistance from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan upon their return.

14 Prisoners Released from Samangan Prison on the Occasion of Eid al-Adha

Coinciding with the arrival of Eid al-Adha, 14 inmates from the Samangan provincial prison were released based on a pardon decree by the Amir al-Mu'minin (Hafizullah), the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. According to information from the press office of the Samangan Police Command, the released individuals include 11 men and 3 women who are residents of the provinces of Samangan, Takhar, and Balkh. These prisoners had been charged with crimes such as drug trafficking and moral corruption. Officials stated that during their time in prison, the inmates received religious and rehabilitation training and have welcomed the leadership's pardon.
