Traffic Accident on Jawzjan–Faryab Highway Claims Two Lives

Qari Abdul Sattar Halimi, spokesperson for the Jawzjan provincial police headquarters, stated in a press release that a traffic accident on the Jawzjan–Faryab main highway resulted in two deaths and eight injuries.

Mr. Halimi reported that around 4 PM yesterday (Wednesday, June 18), two high-speed vehicles of the Saracha and Rom types collided on the Jawzjan–Faryab highway. As a result, two people lost their lives and eight others were injured.

Officials from the Jawzjan traffic department cited driver negligence as the cause of the incident.

Six Individuals Arrested in Jawzjan Province for Theft and Moral Crimes

Local authorities in Jawzjan province report that six individuals have been arrested by the Third Security District police forces in Sheberghan city in connection with various crimes. Mawlawi Shamsurrahman Muzammil, head of the district, stated that three of the individuals were arrested on charges of stealing women's handbags, cash from a shop, and other public belongings. The other three were apprehended for committing adultery in a residential house within the district’s jurisdiction. According to reports, the detainees have confessed to their crimes, and their cases have been referred to judicial and legal authorities.

Five Individuals Arrested for Illegal Gambling in Takhar Province

Nezamuddin Amir, the spokesperson for the Takhar provincial police headquarters, stated that police forces in the province arrested five individuals who were engaged in illegal gambling inside a residential house in Taloqan city, the capital of Takhar province.

Weapons and Ammunition Seized by Police forces in Uruzgan

According to a press release sent to the Police Radio by the Uruzgan provincial police press office, security forces have seized a number of weapons and ammunition during an intelligence operation in the Kherokarez area of Tarinkot, the provincial capital. The source stated that the operation targeted the house of a bodyguard of the former security chief of the previous administration. As a result, security forces recovered a significant cache of weapons and military equipment, including 7 Kalashnikov rifles, 1 M16 rifle, 1 PK machine gun, 1 pistol, 6 radios, a night-vision scope, and several other military items. Meanwhile, police in Uruzgan province have so far arrested one individual in connection with the seized weapons and ammunition. The suspect will be handed over to the relevant judicial and legal authorities after further investigation.
