Repair of Hundreds of Military Vehicles and Dozens of Weapons at the 217 Omari Army Corps


The Ministry of National Defense announced in a press release that 529 various types of military vehicles and 38 weapons have been repaired and made operational again by the technical department of the 217 Omari Army Corps.
According to the statement, the repaired vehicles include 50 armored Humvees, 8 strike tanks, 63 International trucks, 316 forklifts, and several other non-armored vehicles. The repaired weapons include one SPG-9, one 82mm artillery piece, one Russian DShK, four ZU-23 guns, four AKM-249s, twelve Kalashnikov rifles, sixteen M16 rifles, and other weapons. All these assets have been handed over to the military units after repairs.

Hundreds of Drug Addicts Reintegrated with Their Families After Treatment in Herat

Officials in Herat province reported, that 400 drug addicts, who had previously been collected from various areas of the province by the Counter-Narcotics Directorate, have been discharged and handed over to their families in good health after completing a three-month treatment program. However, the process was carried out by a designated committee.

High-Tonnage Weighbridge Constructed and Commissioned at Torkham Customs

The Ministry of Finance announced that the General Directorate of Customs has constructed and commissioned a high-tonnage weighbridge at Torkham Customs at a cost of 3.5 million Afghanis, aimed at determining the weight of imported goods. According to the ministry of finance the weighbridge measures 22 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with the capacity to measure up to 120 tons of weight. Additionally, with the installation of this weighbridge, it is expected to prevent revenue loss and overloading, while also significantly accelerating the customs clearance process for commercial goods. It is worth noting that the project was funded by the Ministry of Finance’s development budget and implemented by an Afghan company.

Turkish Consul General, Alongside Afghan-Turk Maarif Delegation, Met with the Governor of Herat

In this meeting, the Turkish Consul General, the Afghan-Turk Maarif delegation, and graduates and students of higher education in Turkey met with Sheikh Mawlana Islamjar, the honorable governor of Herat. Along side, they discussed the educational programs of the Afghan-Turk schools and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
