Successful Ascent of Number one Alborz Peak by Balkh Mountaineering Team

Seven members of the “Northern Eagles” mountaineering team from the Balkh Mountaineering Federation, led by Coach Reza Rezayi, successfully climbed and descended number one Alborz Peak in intense 46°C heat, completing the journey in just four hours.

Repots added, this peak, located in Alborz District, has an elevation of approximately 1,750 meters and is situated 38 kilometers from Mazar-e-Sharif city.

Meanwhile, the climb was carried out with the support of the Balkh Mountaineering Federation and in coordination with the Directorate of Olympics and Physical Education of Balkh Province.

Successful Ascent of Balkh Mountaineers to the 1600-Meter Peak of Kariz Mountains

Ustad Momand Sarwari, head of the Mountaineering Federation of Balkh province, stated that seven climbers from the federation, under the leadership of Ustad Reza Rezai, the federation’s technical deputy, successfully ascended the 1600-meter peak of the Kariz Mountains in Nahr-e-Shahi district. This expedition was carried out with the support of the Mountaineering Federation and in coordination with the Olympic and Physical Education Department of Balkh province. It is mentionable, the Kariz Mountains are located about 25 kilometers north of Mazar-e-Sharif city, in Nahr-e-Shahi district. The area is especially known during spring as a popular destination for nature tourism and mountaineering. However, Mr. Sarwari stated that the purpose of the climb was to strengthen the physical abilities of the climbers and promote the culture of mountaineering in Balkh province.

Afghanistan Wushu National Team Shines and Receives Official Welcome in Kabul

Eight members of Afghanistan’s national Wushu team brought historic pride to the country by winning three medals — gold, silver, and bronze — in the Asian competitions. However, upon their return to the country, Mufti Abdul Mateen "Qaneh," spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior and senior advisor to the Wushu Federation, welcomed the champions at Kabul Airport and described their achievement as a source of national pride.

Sport Competitions Held in Nangarhar

According to a press release from the Olympic Department of Nangarhar province, Sport competitions were organized at the "Malem Awal Gul" sports stadium in District One of Jalalabad city. The event was held under the direction of the General Directorate of Physical Education, Sports, and the Olympic Committee, in coordination with the Martial Arts Federation and OSPORT officials. The press release states that the competitions aimed to support the system and encourage athletes. A total of 32 athletes participated in the event across two age categories — youth and adults — competing in thrilling matches against each other. As a result, 16 athletes emerged victorious. The source further added, that the event lasted for one day, and the winning athletes were awarded certificates of appreciation and medals as prizes
