Officials from the Department of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Jawzjan province reported, that a woman has been arrested in the village of Kahlek on charges of witchcraft and deceiving people. According to the officials, the woman claimed to have supernatural abilities and provided so-called "healing remedies" in exchange for money and valuables from local residents.

Furthermore, following an investigation into local residents’ complaints and confirmation of the matter, she was identified and detained by inspectors. Ultimately, the accused was conditionally released based on a written guarantee and a commitment from her relatives.

Meanwhile, the department has called on citizens to report any similar incidents to the authorities.
