Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Visits Returnee Situation at Islam Qala Border in Herat
Mawlawi Hamidullah Akhundzada, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan, visited the Islam Qala border in Herat province to assess the situation of Afghan returnees.
The Minister stated that the purpose of his visit to Herat and the Islam Qala border was to directly monitor the activities of the Transport Committee and oversee the response process for returnees coming back from Iran.
Additionally, during the visit, Minister Akhundzada inspected all committees providing services to the returnees and closely evaluated the quality of service delivery.
Expressing satisfaction with the coordination among government bodies, he noted that the returnee response is being carried out in an orderly and efficient manner, with no disruptions observed in the service process.
He also praised the support of the local community and charitable organizations, stating that alongside the Islamic Emirate, they play a vital role in facilitating the transportation and care of returnees.
Furthermore, the Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Transport is fully prepared to expand services if the number of returnees increases and emphasized that no effort will be spared in ensuring their smooth relocation.
Mr. Akhundzada further added that the Islamic Emirate’s services to returnees from transportation to food provision are being carried out in close cooperation with the public and responsible institutions, striving to ensure no shortages in the process.
Meanwhile, several returnees expressed satisfaction with the services provided by the Islamic Emirate, saying they faced no issues or obstacles at the Islam Qala border, and that their reception and transfer were handled in an orderly and appropriate manner.
