Large Cache of Seized Weapons and Military Equipment Handed Over to DIAG in Helmand
Helmand, Saturday – The Criminal Investigation Department of Helmand Police Headquarters handed over 61 seized military weapons and equipment to the Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) management, and these weapons collected during the final quarter of the 2024 year.
According to officials, over the past three months, approximately 58 individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities which is including theft, murder, and other offenses were arrested in Lashkargah city and several surrounding districts. Alongside the arrests, authorities confiscated 61 firearms and military-related equipment.
Furthermore, Helmand Police spokesperson Mullah Ezzatullah Haqqani stated that the seized items included, 45 pistols, 7 Kalashnikov rifles, 9 short-barrel rifles (Kamarshkan),250 rounds of light and heavy ammunition also Various other military tools and devices allegedly used in criminal activities.
All confiscated items were officially transferred to the DIAG management as part of the disarmament and stabilization efforts in the region.
Meanwhile, the case files of the arrested individuals have been prepared and forwarded to the relevant Sharia courts for legal proceedings and punishment.
The Helmand Police Command urges all residents to report any suspicious activities to security forces or via the free police hotline 119, to help prevent crimes and ensure public safety.
