Ahmad Siawash Haris, spokesperson for the governor of Jawzjan province, states that the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock of this province has started the establishment of 111 vegetable demonstration plots in Sheberghan city and the ten districts of the province, aiming to enhance farmers’ capacity and promote vegetable cultivation.

According to Mr. Haris, during the implementation of this program, improved seed varieties including melon, pumpkin, and carrot have been distributed to 111 eligible farmers.

Mr. Haris adds, that such programs not only increase vegetable production in local markets but also help improve food security, raise the income of farming families, and promote sustainable agriculture in the province.
