The Governor of Herat Travels to Iran to Assess the Situation of Migrants and Expand Economic Relations
The spokesperson for Herat province, Mufti Yousuf Saeedi, stated that the purpose of this trip is to evaluate the situation of Afghan migrants deported from Iran and to strengthen economic cooperation between Herat province and regional authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to him, during this visit, the Governor of Herat will meet with several regional and central Iranian officials to discuss solutions to the problems faced by Afghan migrants, facilitate the process of voluntary return, improve the treatment of migrants at the border, and expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, transit, and trade.
On other side, this high-level delegation's trip comes at a time when more than 30,000 Afghan migrants are being deported from Iran daily.
