Four-Day Polio Vaccination Campaign to Launch Tomorrow in the Eastern Zone
A four-day anti-polio vaccination campaign is set to begin tomorrow (Monday) across the eastern zone of Afghanistan.
The campaign was officially launched at the regional hospital in Nangarhar province, where officials from the Nangarhar Department of Public Health, UNICEF, and several other organizations jointly administered polio vaccines to a number of children.
According to Mr. Mawlawi Aminullah Sharif, Head of Nangarhar Public Health Department, the campaign will run for four days across the four provinces of the eastern zone starting Monday.
He added that during this campaign, around 850,000 children under the age of five in Jalalabad city and all its districts will be vaccinated against polio.
