Helmand River Traditional Annual Poetry Gathering Held with Grand Ceremony
On Thursday evening, July 24, 2025, the traditional annual poetry gathering of the Helmand River was held at the central stadium in Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand province, with a series of special ceremonies.
During the well-organized event, poets and religious reciters presented naats (praises of the Prophet), hamds (praises of God), and epic poems to the audience. Through their poetry, they reflected on the horrors committed by the occupiers during the past twenty years of occupation, the victorious operations of the Mujahideen, the unmatched security and development projects under the current sacred Islamic system, and the deep love for the beloved country of Afghanistan.
It is worth mentioning that the Helmand River traditional poetry gathering is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm in the presence of literature lovers, writers, poets, youth, and thousands of ordinary people.
