166 Tankers of Low-Quality Fuel Rejected from the Country’s Customs in One Month

The Ministry of Finance reports that during the month of (June–July), a total of 166 tankers carrying low-quality petroleum products were rejected from the country’s customs.

According to the ministry, 161 of these tankers were carrying diesel and 2 tankers were carrying petrol, all of which were rejected at the Nimroz border, while an additional 3 petrol tankers were turned back at the Sher Khan border crossing.

Last night’s earthquake in Balkh province caused both human and material losses

Haji Zaid, spokesperson for the Balkh provincial authorities, so far about 12 individuals have died and 400 others have been injured. The injured have been transferred to medical centers by emergency teams and Red Cross personnel, where they are receiving care and treatment. He added that a large number of houses and buildings in the city and districts of Balkh, including the Rawzah Sharif area, have been destroyed, and rescue operations to assist the affected people are ongoing.

The United Nations has sent relief teams to the earthquake-affected areas in the northern part of the country

The United Nations Mission in Afghanistan has announced that its relief teams have been dispatched to the earthquake-affected areas in the northern part of the country to assess needs and provide immediate assistance. The organization stated on its X (formerly Twitter) page that it stands with the affected communities and will provide the necessary support.

Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, expressed his condolences in a statement regarding last night’s earthquake in Balkh, Samangan, and Baghlan, which caused casualties and significant financial losses. The Islamic Emirate prayed for paradise (Jannat al-Firdaws) for the deceased, a speedy recovery for the injured, and patience and reward for the survivors. On other side, Mr. Mujahid added that officials and agencies of the Islamic Emirate are fully engaged in serving the people and providing the necessary assistance.
