At the ceremony marking the 106th anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence from British colonial rule, Minister of National Defense, Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, said that “one part is gaining independence, and the other is preserving it.”

According to Mr. Mujahid, Afghanistan has gained independence three times in the past century, and this last one must not be allowed to slip away.

He added that the Islamic forces—police, intelligence, and army—are the sons of the nation, have risen from among the people, and will always stand behind them.

On other side, the minister also said that they want good relations with the world and harbor no ill intentions toward anyone.
