Burning of Over 2,800 Kilograms of Spoiled Meat in Mazar-e-Sharif
Health officials at the state-owned slaughterhouse in Balkh province reported, that more than 2,842 kilograms of spoiled meat and liver were incinerated in the slaughterhouse compound in the presence of representatives from the provincial governor’s office, the municipality, the Directorate of Agriculture and Veterinary, and the professional slaughterhouse team.
According to the officials, this amount of spoiled meat had been collected over the past two months by monitoring teams—part of it from city butcher shops and markets, and another portion identified after inspections of slaughtered animals inside the slaughterhouse.
Additionally, the health monitoring teams emphasized that they conduct daily inspections of butcher shops in the city to prevent the sale of unhealthy and unauthorized meat.
