12 Killed in Truck-Trolley Overturn Accident in Nawa district of Helmand
Today, Friday, in the Panjwa Do area of Nawa district, Helmand province, 12 people were killed and 4 others injured after a truck-trolley carrying women and children overturned into the Helmand River.
Mullah Ezatullah Haqqani, spokesperson for the provincial police command, told to Police Radio that the incident occurred when about 30 men, women, and children were traveling in the truck-trolley from Garmser district to Nawa district to attend a wedding. The vehicle overturned in the river in the Panjwa Do area, resulting in 16 casualties.
According to officials, the victims include 3 women and 9 children, while 4 other children were injured. Security forces arrived at the scene on time, rescuing 14 passengers, whose health condition is reported to be stable.
