Return of Afghan Refugees Through Torkham Border Accelerates Once Again
The process of Afghan refugees returning through the Torkham crossing has once again accelerated.
Bakht Jamal Gohar, the head of transport operations at Torkham, told to Police Radio that in recent days, hundreds of families have been returning daily from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and various parts of Pakistan to their hometowns via Torkham.
According to him, with the increase in the pace of returns, they are fully prepared in coordination with partner organizations.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hashim Maiwandwal, the head of the Torkham Omari camp, also assured that full arrangements have been made for the returning Afghans.
He further called on charities and aid organizations to step up their assistance and attention to the returning refugees amid the growing wave of repatriations.
