The meeting was held on the occasion of Ambassador Kuramaya’s completion of his mission. During the discussion, Khalifa Sirajuddin praised the ambassador’s diplomatic service and his efforts in further strengthening the interaction between the two countries. 

However, he emphasized that relations between Japan and Afghanistan are longstanding and have always been marked by constructive engagement.

Mr. Kuramaya described the progress in security and other areas as promising and expressed hope for a better future for the Afghan people. He further added that Japan, within the framework of the United Nations, will continue its assistance in alternative livelihoods, counter-narcotics, and treatment of addicts.
