Staff of the Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock rejected and returned 105 tons of spoiled and rotten maize that had been imported through the Torkham crossing back to Pakistan.

Additionally, the spoiled maize had been brought in by the Rafiqullah Rafiqi Company, but timely action by the agriculture officials prevented its entry into Afghan markets.

Mawlawi Mohammad Wali Mohsin, head of the Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, called on all traders to import only good quality and standard products.
