Balkh climbers completed training ascent of Kariz Bala peak

Five members of Balkh province’s central mountaineering federation team, led by technical deputy Reza Rezaei, scaled the 1,800-metre Kariz Bala peak on Friday as part of a training exercise.


The climb, organised with support from the provincial Olympic and Sports Directorate, was aimed at improving the athletes’ physical fitness and encouraging a culture of mountaineering and eco-tourism.


It is mentionable, Kariz Bala mountains are located in Nahr-e-Shahi district, about 25 kilometres from Mazar-e-Sharif.

Today’s match began with Afghanistan batting first, setting a target of 211 runs for Zimbabwe. In response, Zimbabwe played all its overs but managed to score only 201 runs, falling short of the target. It is worth noting that Afghan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored the highest runs in the match with 92, followed by Ibrahim Zadran, who made 60 runs off 49 balls.

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has won the Asian Championship

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has become the champion of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship after defeating Iran. In the final match, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team triumphed over Iran with a score of 2–1, securing the gold medal in the tournament. Basically, this marks Afghanistan’s first-ever championship title in the history of the U-17 Asian Futsal competitions.
