Luxembourg to recognize Palestine as an independent state
Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel have told a parliamentary committee that their country intends to recognise Palestine as an independent state at the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly.
The foreign minister further, added that he will submit a bill to parliament enabling Luxembourg to take further steps, including possible sanctions against Israel.
Australia, Canada, Belgium and the United Kingdom have previously announced their intention to recognise Palestine at the UN General Assembly.
