Modernization and Digitalization of Traffic Lights Begins in Mazar-e-Sharif
The Mazar-e-Sharif Municipality has launched a project to modernize and digitalize 19 traffic light locations across the city in a bid to improve urban order, prevent accidents, and reduce congestion.
According to the municipality’s spokesperson, the project—funded with 7 million Afghanis from the municipality’s development budget and implemented in coordination with Balkh Traffic Management—includes upgrading traffic lights to digital systems, repainting poles, road marking, and one year of maintenance.
On other side, the work, contracted to Basit Bilal Company, is expected to be completed within three months.
