Islamic Emirate Has No Military Agreements with Any Foreign Country, Defense Minister Says
Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the country’s Minister of National Defense, has stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that the Islamic Emirate currently holds no military agreements with any foreign country.
Mawlavi Yaqoob reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to the Doha Agreement, emphasizing that Afghan soil will not be used against any country.
Addressing concerns about potential threats, he said, “No country can present evidence that any threat has emanated from Afghanistan.”
Mujahid further noted, that the Islamic Emirate’s current focus is on political and economic matters, particularly the removal of international sanctions.
He also highlighted that the Ministry of Defense has extensive plans to rebuild and professionalize the Islamic Army, with large numbers of personnel regularly graduating from training programs and joining the military ranks to serve the country.
