Traditional Wrestling Competitions Held in Herat

Traditional wrestling competitions were hosted in Herat province over two days, with the participation of 370 wrestlers from various provinces of the country.


Qari Habibullah Rahmani, head of the National Traditional Wrestling Federation and advisor to the General Directorate of Physical Education, stated that this local style of wrestling is growing in popularity and attracting more enthusiasts every day.

Today’s match began with Afghanistan batting first, setting a target of 211 runs for Zimbabwe. In response, Zimbabwe played all its overs but managed to score only 201 runs, falling short of the target. It is worth noting that Afghan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored the highest runs in the match with 92, followed by Ibrahim Zadran, who made 60 runs off 49 balls.

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has won the Asian Championship

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has become the champion of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship after defeating Iran. In the final match, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team triumphed over Iran with a score of 2–1, securing the gold medal in the tournament. Basically, this marks Afghanistan’s first-ever championship title in the history of the U-17 Asian Futsal competitions.
