Syria’s Transitional President Arrives in New York for UN General Assembly
The Syrian state news agency SANA reports that Ahmad al-Shar’a, the transitional president of Syria, has arrived in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
He is the first Syrian president to appear at the UN in nearly six decades, since 1967.
According to the report, Ahmad al-Shar’a is scheduled to deliver a speech at the 80th session of the General Assembly, which begins tomorrow.
