Fire Contained in Mazar-e-Sharif City

Hafiz Mohammad Isa Wasiq, spokesperson for the Balkh Police Command, said that today a fire broke out due to the discharge of fuel from a boiler tank in an oil market located in the 11th district of Mazar-e-Sharif city.

He added that the fire was quickly brought under control by the Balkh province firefighting personnel.

According to him, the incident caused an estimated 800,000 Afghanis in damages, but property worth more than 10 million Afghanis in the neighboring markets was saved from the blaze.

Arrest of Eight Gamblers in a Residential House in Balkh

Hafiz Mohammad Isa Wasiq, spokesperson for the Balkh Police Command, said today (Sunday) that the sixth security zone police in Balkh arrested eight individuals who were gambling in a residential house. According to him, a sum of cash was seized, including 500 US dollars, 50 euros, and 42,890 Afghanis. After preliminary investigations, the cases of these individuals will be referred to judicial authorities for further proceedings.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition seized by security forces in Samangan

Hashmatullah Rahmani, spokesperson for the Samangan Police Command, said that security forces from the Dara-e-Suf Bala district police command carried out a precise and targeted operation last night, during which they discovered and seized a significant amount of weapons and ammunition from irresponsible individuals. According to him, as a result of this operation, one PK machine gun, one rocket launcher, one Kalashnikov rifle, seven rocket rounds, fifteen hand grenades, four mortar shells, 146 PK bullets, and a quantity of other ammunition were recovered.
