Macron Says Killing Hamas Leaders Is Not the Solution to End the Gaza War

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, stated that killing Hamas leaders is not a solution to ending the Gaza war.


According to The Times of Israel, which reported the remarks on Tuesday night, September 23, Macron made the comments during a meeting with his American counterpart on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.


The French president added that despite the killing of Hamas leaders, the number of the group’s fighters remains the same as at the beginning of the Gaza war, which means that eliminating its leaders will not resolve the conflict.

Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington

The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, has said that Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington. Reuters reported that this would be the first visit of a Syrian leader to the U.S. capital. According to a White House official, the visit is expected to take place around November 10. Meanwhile, Syrian officials have also stated that the visit is anticipated within the next two weeks.
