The resumption of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Syria
Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, after meeting with Ahmad al-Shar‘, the Transitional President of Syria, announced that Kyiv and Damascus have resumed their diplomatic relations.
Zelensky wrote on his X page that Ukraine and Syria have signed a joint statement on the resumption of diplomatic relations and have agreed to restore their relations based on mutual respect and trust.
It is worth noting that diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Syria had been severed in 2022.
