We stand firmly alongside the people of Gaza: Ahmad al-Shar‘

Ahmad al-Shar‘, the Transitional President of Syria, in his speech at the annual United Nations General Assembly, called for an immediate end to Israel’s war in Gaza.


Ahmad al-Shar‘ said: “We are among the nations that have experienced the horrors of war and destruction the most; that is why we stand firmly alongside the people of Gaza.”

Trump threatened the Nigerian government with military action

U.S. President Donald Trump, in response to what he described as the massacre of Christians in Nigeria, has warned the Nigerian government that Washington may cut aid and cooperation, and that U.S. military forces could be deployed to Nigeria. Trump made this statement early today (Sunday, November 1) in a message on his social media platform, Truth Social. The former president urged the Nigerian government to stop the killings of Christians in the country and ordered the Pentagon to be prepared for a potential action in Nigeria.

Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington

The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, has said that Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington. Reuters reported that this would be the first visit of a Syrian leader to the U.S. capital. According to a White House official, the visit is expected to take place around November 10. Meanwhile, Syrian officials have also stated that the visit is anticipated within the next two weeks.
