Samangan Hosts First Northern Kickboxing Tournament


The first round of the Northern Kickboxing Championship was held in Aibak, the capital of Samangan Province, with the participation of 70 athletes from the provinces of Balkh, Kunduz, Jawzjan, Faryab, Takhar, Baghlan, and Samangan.

In the end, the Balkh team won the championship title, while Samangan and Kunduz secured second and third place, respectively.

Today’s match began with Afghanistan batting first, setting a target of 211 runs for Zimbabwe. In response, Zimbabwe played all its overs but managed to score only 201 runs, falling short of the target. It is worth noting that Afghan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored the highest runs in the match with 92, followed by Ibrahim Zadran, who made 60 runs off 49 balls.

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has won the Asian Championship

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has become the champion of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship after defeating Iran. In the final match, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team triumphed over Iran with a score of 2–1, securing the gold medal in the tournament. Basically, this marks Afghanistan’s first-ever championship title in the history of the U-17 Asian Futsal competitions.
