Tens of thousands of protesters in Germany called on the European Union to impose sanctions on Israel
International media report that tens of thousands of people took to the streets of Berlin, Germany’s capital, in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
According to the reports, protesters chanted slogans such as “Free Palestine,” demanding an end to Israel’s war on Palestinians and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Demonstrators also called for a halt to German arms exports to Israel and urged the European Union to impose sanctions on the Israeli government.
That is while, Berlin police estimated the crowd at around 60,000, while organizers claimed the number was closer to 100,000.
