Italy Donates €2 Million to UN Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan to Support Addiction Treatment Centers


The UN’s Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (STFA) announced that Italy has contributed €2 million (approximately USD 2.3 million) to support addiction treatment centers in Afghanistan.


At the same time, the Italian Embassy in Kabul stated on its X (formerly Twitter) page that it remains committed to supporting healthcare in Afghanistan.

Trump threatened the Nigerian government with military action

U.S. President Donald Trump, in response to what he described as the massacre of Christians in Nigeria, has warned the Nigerian government that Washington may cut aid and cooperation, and that U.S. military forces could be deployed to Nigeria. Trump made this statement early today (Sunday, November 1) in a message on his social media platform, Truth Social. The former president urged the Nigerian government to stop the killings of Christians in the country and ordered the Pentagon to be prepared for a potential action in Nigeria.

Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington

The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, has said that Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington. Reuters reported that this would be the first visit of a Syrian leader to the U.S. capital. According to a White House official, the visit is expected to take place around November 10. Meanwhile, Syrian officials have also stated that the visit is anticipated within the next two weeks.
