A friendly wrestling tournament with the participation of 150 wrestlers was held in Herat province

The competition was organized by the Herat Wrestling Federation, with the presence of Mufti Abdul Rahim Rahmani, Head of Physical Education and Sports of Herat, and over 5,000 spectators at the Maalem Abdul Ghani Wrestling Arena in Herat.


The matches were held in weight categories from 60 to 85 kilograms and also for five “Qands” (championship titles), in which the wrestlers competed against each other.


The first Qand was won by Pahlevan Maihan, who defeated his opponent.

The second Qand was won by Pahlevan Imamuddin against Pahlevan Danial.

In the third Qand, Pahlevan Munir Ahmad competed against Pahlevan Ezzat, and Pahlevan Munir Ahmad emerged victorious.

The fourth Qand was contested between Pahlevan Nisar Ahmad and Pahlevan Naveed, with Pahlevan Nisar Ahmad winning the title.

The fifth Qand was between Pahlevan Mohammad from Ariana Club and Pahlevan Mohammad from Afghan Club, with Pahlevan Mohammad from Afghan Club ultimately securing the fifth Qand.

Today’s match began with Afghanistan batting first, setting a target of 211 runs for Zimbabwe. In response, Zimbabwe played all its overs but managed to score only 201 runs, falling short of the target. It is worth noting that Afghan player Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored the highest runs in the match with 92, followed by Ibrahim Zadran, who made 60 runs off 49 balls.

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has won the Asian Championship

Afghanistan’s national under-17 futsal team has become the champion of the 2025 Asian Youth Championship after defeating Iran. In the final match, Afghanistan’s U-17 futsal team triumphed over Iran with a score of 2–1, securing the gold medal in the tournament. Basically, this marks Afghanistan’s first-ever championship title in the history of the U-17 Asian Futsal competitions.
