Start of Syria’s first parliamentary elections since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad
Today, Syrian citizens are set to go to the polls to elect members of the country’s first parliament since the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s government.
The state news agency (SANA) reported that the elections will be held today.
According to published information, the seats for the governorates of Raqqa, Hasakah, and Suwayda, which have not participated in the electoral process, will remain vacant until elections are held in those areas.
