U.S. President Donald Trump has urged all parties involved to take strong and swift measures to end the Gaza conflict.


These remarks come after Hamas agreed to certain parts of the U.S. 20-point peace plan, including the release of prisoners and the transfer of Gaza’s authority to Palestinian professionals.


It is reported that Hamas has opposed the demand for “disarmament” and stated that some other provisions still require negotiation.


These statements come as indirect, mediator-facilitated talks between Hamas and Israel are scheduled to take place today (Monday, October 6).

Trump threatened the Nigerian government with military action

Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington

The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, has said that Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington. Reuters reported that this would be the first visit of a Syrian leader to the U.S. capital. According to a White House official, the visit is expected to take place around November 10. Meanwhile, Syrian officials have also stated that the visit is anticipated within the next two weeks.
