Launch of PPR Vaccination Campaign in Chemtal District of Balkh pro

The vaccination campaign against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in Chemtal District, Balkh Province, has been launched.


According to the Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock of Balkh, the program was initiated with the presence of the Head of Livestock and Animal Health at the directorate.


As part of this campaign, the office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in collaboration with the Agricultural Services Directorate of Chemtal District administered six thousand doses of the PPR vaccine through veterinarians and field technicians.

Participation of the Minister of Public Health in the Global Health Exhibition in Saudi Arabia

Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Minister of Public Health, along with his accompanying delegation, participated in and delivered a speech at the 8th Global Health Exhibition in Saudi Arabia. Further more, in his speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of using modern technology to enhance the effectiveness of healthcare services, stating that the ministry has made efforts to implement new technologies and digitize certain parts of the health sector. Representatives from various countries, health organizations, and medical technology experts took part in the exhibition. A variety of medical devices, artificial intelligence tools, health technologies, and related service equipment were showcased at the event.

38 drug addicts recover in Kunduz

Jumauddin Khaksar, spokesperson for the Kunduz Police Command, said that 38 individuals addicted to drugs, who had been undergoing treatment for the past four months at the Drug Treatment Camp under the Counter-Narcotics Directorate of the province, have now fully recovered and been reunited with their families. According to him, over the past four years, a total of 3,800 drug addicts have been treated at this rehabilitation camp, and currently, around 500 individuals are still receiving treatment.

A pharmaceutical factory in Herat produces 78 types of medicinal products

Officials at the Armin Pharma factory in Herat said, that the company began operations nine months ago with an investment of 8 million USD. Abdullah Rayan, the general manager of the factory, stated that currently 78 types of medicines are being produced and distributed to more than 30 provinces across Afghanistan. The factory’s director added, that if the import of similar foreign medicines were to stop, the company would be able to expand its production and play a larger role in meeting the country’s pharmaceutical needs. More than 60 people are employed at this factory. The workers, expressing their satisfaction with the job opportunities provided, said that the medicines produced here are high-quality and meet standard criteria.
