Weapons and military equipment seized in Herat
The spokesperson for the Herat Provincial Police Command, Ghulam Nabi Nabizada, told Police Radio that as a result of operational activities and intelligence efforts by the Counterterrorism Directorate, dozens of weapons and a large quantity of military equipment were discovered and confiscated from various parts of the province.
He added that the seized items include 14 Kalashnikov rifles, 64 different pistols, 8 hunting guns, 3 Balazan rifles, 1 PK machine gun, 1 PPSH submachine gun, 81 hand grenades, 2,800 PK bullets, and 200 Balazan rounds.
Additionally, a handheld telescope, 4 flags, 12 handheld radios, one anti-tank mine, 2 hand grenades, 9 rocket heads, 7 Balazan magazines, 6 body scanners, 16 anti-riot police tools, one bayonet knife, 2 Russian Kuda radios, and 2 M16 magazine covers were also among the confiscated items.
The Director of Counterterrorism in Herat said that after completing legal procedures, the seized weapons and equipment were handed over to the “DYCAC” (Demining and Ammunition Disposal Center) office.
Herat security officials stated that several individuals were arrested in connection with the case, and their files have been referred to judicial and legal authorities.
