The UN Secretary-General welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza


Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. 


In a post on his X account, Guterres expressed appreciation for the diplomatic efforts of the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey in mediating the deal.


He also emphasized the need for the immediate and unhindered entry of humanitarian aid and essential commercial goods into Gaza.


The UN Secretary-General further called on all concerned parties to use this opportunity to end the occupation of Palestine and to recognize the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

The United States is facing hunger under Trump’s leadership

Trump threatened the Nigerian government with military action

U.S. President Donald Trump, in response to what he described as the massacre of Christians in Nigeria, has warned the Nigerian government that Washington may cut aid and cooperation, and that U.S. military forces could be deployed to Nigeria. Trump made this statement early today (Sunday, November 1) in a message on his social media platform, Truth Social. The former president urged the Nigerian government to stop the killings of Christians in the country and ordered the Pentagon to be prepared for a potential action in Nigeria.

Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington

The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, has said that Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington. Reuters reported that this would be the first visit of a Syrian leader to the U.S. capital. According to a White House official, the visit is expected to take place around November 10. Meanwhile, Syrian officials have also stated that the visit is anticipated within the next two weeks.
