House fire contained in Balkh province

Hafiz Mohammad Isa Waseq, spokesperson for the Balkh provincial police, said that a residential house in the seventh security district of Mazar-e-Sharif caught fire, but the blaze was quickly brought under control thanks to the swift response of the provincial police’s emergency and firefighting units.


According to Waseq, the fire caused an estimated 5,000 Afghanis in damage to household goods, while the timely intervention prevented losses of about 400,000 Afghanis to nearby properties.


The incident was reportedly caused by carelessness in the use of household appliances, he added.

Arrest of Eight Gamblers in a Residential House in Balkh

Hafiz Mohammad Isa Wasiq, spokesperson for the Balkh Police Command, said today (Sunday) that the sixth security zone police in Balkh arrested eight individuals who were gambling in a residential house. According to him, a sum of cash was seized, including 500 US dollars, 50 euros, and 42,890 Afghanis. After preliminary investigations, the cases of these individuals will be referred to judicial authorities for further proceedings.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition seized by security forces in Samangan

Hashmatullah Rahmani, spokesperson for the Samangan Police Command, said that security forces from the Dara-e-Suf Bala district police command carried out a precise and targeted operation last night, during which they discovered and seized a significant amount of weapons and ammunition from irresponsible individuals. According to him, as a result of this operation, one PK machine gun, one rocket launcher, one Kalashnikov rifle, seven rocket rounds, fifteen hand grenades, four mortar shells, 146 PK bullets, and a quantity of other ammunition were recovered.
