During the past week, the Mobile Teams of the Sub-Customs Department of Helmand Province, in coordination with relevant offices, prevented the illegal import of 11.5 tons of food and non-food items in various areas, including Lashkargah city, and the districts of Garmsir, Reg, Bahramcha, and border regions.

Haji Haqmal, head of the Sub-Customs Department, said that a number of individuals attempted to illegally import 11.5 tons of food items — such as human medicines, chocolates, pickles, and beans — as well as non-food items, including fuel, into Helmand Province using six cargo trucks. The attempt was thwarted by the department’s mobile inspection teams.

Based on reports, In connection with the seized vehicles and goods, 12 individuals were arrested by the mobile teams and handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
