Protests initiated by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) party in Lahore escalated into violence after police opened fire on demonstrators.


According to reports, over 280 protesters were killed, 1,900 injured, and 70 others were run over by armored vehicles during the crackdown by Pakistani police. Additionally, the bodies of 12 individuals were reportedly set on fire, and nearly 700 people were arrested.


Thousands of TLP supporters were planning to hold a demonstration in front of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad in support of the people of Palestine, but police forces prevented them from advancing.
