UN Allocates Additional $11 Million in Emergency Aid for Gaza Ahead of Winter


Tom Fletcher, the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator, has announced that an additional $11 million has been allocated from the UN's Emergency Response Fund to scale up aid to Gaza as winter approaches.


In a post on his X (Twitter) page, Fletcher stated that with this new allocation, the total UN funding for Gaza has now reached $20 million.


According to him, the funds will be used to provide food, water, shelter, healthcare, and to support the continuation of essential infrastructure services in Gaza.

Trump threatened the Nigerian government with military action

U.S. President Donald Trump, in response to what he described as the massacre of Christians in Nigeria, has warned the Nigerian government that Washington may cut aid and cooperation, and that U.S. military forces could be deployed to Nigeria. Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington

The U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, has said that Syrian President Ahmed Shar’ah is expected to visit Washington. Reuters reported that this would be the first visit of a Syrian leader to the U.S. capital. According to a White House official, the visit is expected to take place around November 10. Meanwhile, Syrian officials have also stated that the visit is anticipated within the next two weeks.
